Broadcast signal forwarding to uplink station(s) and broadcasting transmitter(s)
Antenna Hungária can offer its program distribution service by the following solutions for its clients to be able to reach their partners. Within the confines of program distribution, Antenna Hungária broadcasts the signal from studio to satellite uplink station or to transmitter.
The applied solutions are:
Fiber network access:
Mainly in Budapest, and already in some other parts of the country, as well, our company has its own or hired fiber links with the help of which it can realize a totally redundant link if it is necessary. Generally, the most up-to-date (Next Generation) SDH/PDH and IP/Ethernet appliances are used for the links. The forwarding of broadcast signal of the public broadcasters from their studio to satellite uplink station is realised through a path-redundant fiber access with the back-up of service equipment.
Microwave access:
The broadcasting towers of Antenna Hungária are located on the highest points of Hungary from which the users’ end-points can be linked to the digital microwave OTH (National Transport Network) or to the Fiber Network of Budapest by Point-Point (PP) or Point-Multi-Point (PMP) systems. Antenna Hungária possesses a frequency-permission for the usage of the 3.5 GHz-26 GHz band for the operation of the national PMP network.
Third party provider access:
In case the broadcast signal of our clients cannot be economically distributed to the satellite uplink or broadcasting transmitter station with our own equipment, the necessary capacities are hired from third party providers. By means of the several exchange locations (SDH/PDH/Ethernet) established with the main Hungarian and international service providers, the plug in of the end-points can be simplified and fastened.
For the sake of operation safety, we combine the above mentioned solutions, for example the primary line is implemented through fiber network and the back-up one by microwave equipment. In case of any failure, the switch-over from one network to another is certainly automatic without any outage.
Satellite uplink services
Antenna Hungária modulates the multiplex signal package by, presently receiving ASI signals, DVB-S (or after future investments DVB-S2) QPSK modulators (EN 300 421), and after transposition and microwave amplification, AH passes it to the antenna-input of the uplink.
The satellite uplink chain, with a 1+1 automatic back-up system, is a system with a high service level. The up-to-date uplink system compiled with professional and standardised equipment is in a total compliance with the very grave technical quality requirements.
The engine-controlled antennas of the uplink station equipped with an automatic tracking system are suited for the forwarding of the appropriate multiplex to the AMOS satellite at 4o West and the Hot Bird satellite at 13o East, however with the help of other investments any of the broadcasting satellites orbiting on a geostationary orbit between 4o West and 13o East can be achieved.
The uplink station is equipped with monitoring systems, which offer a throughout signal-monitoring beginning with the incoming signal stream, throughout the output of equipment, up to the transmitted and taken back (for control) signals.
In a consideration of the possible unexpected and special circumstances, Antenna Hungária Zrt. – as a member of the TDF Group – can offer the possible periodic usage of alternative uplink stations inside the Group, either for domestic clients or for them abroad.
Our uplink station is operating with a 24-hour control system and local servicing, with excellent experts and outstanding instruments, thus the services of Antenna Hungária Zrt. are of relevant service level and are highly standardised.
