As is known, the National Media and Infocommunications Authority published the switch-off dates of the analogue terrestrial television networks in mid-March, the process will be carried out in two phases: analogue terrestrial television transmission will be discontinued in Budapest, Győr, Kab-hegy, Szeged and Szentes transmitter regions on July 31, 2013 and is replaced by MinDig TV, the digital terrestrial television broadcasting. In the second phase the analogue broadcasting will be ceased on the other side of the country (in North Hungary, North-East Great Plain and Southern Transdanubia) on October 31, 2013.

The success of MinDig TV Extra service is due to the following factors: excellent value for money ratio, great picture & sound quality and program line-up selection with special care. It is important for our customers to provide flexibility, virtually anytime, anywhere access and beside the usual post-paid subscription, a pre-paid bundled offer is widely available at hundreds of retail partners across the country.
98 per cent of the population can access MinDig TV - offering seven free-to-air digital channels - and MinDig TV Extra Basic package with an indoor or rooftop antenna, the digital terrestrial programs can be received from 65 sites. Thanks to the network developments in the past years, the indoor reception conditions continued to expand, especially in the big cities and neighbourhoods.
In order to facilitate the digital switchover, AH launched its "Switch!" information campaign, starring with György Rózsa. Affected analogue terrestrial users can obtain detailed information about the switchover process and the necessary actions to take from the www.atallas.hu website and by calling the toll-free 06-80-90-99-00 number.
Further significant increase in the number of digital terrestrial television users is expected as we are approaching the switch-off of analogue terrestrial television networks. Presently it is up to 500 thousand households use solely the analogue terrestrial television service according to the market researches. This reception mode with its presence of more than half a century will be discontinued on July 31 and on October 31 and replaced by the digital broadcasting.
AH expects that the vast majority of analogue service users will switch to the digital terrestrial services, resulting up to one million MinDig TV user households by end of the year. By reaching this target, AH may be the largest digital TV service provider in Hungary.
Further significant developments can be expected after the analogue switch-off, the Family package of MinDig TV Extra will be widely available, the program line-up can be expanded and new services can be integrated into the product portfolio. Antenna Hungária is fully prepared for the last stage of the digital switchover and is ready to contribute to the smooth analogue switch-off process.
