On July 19 Annamária Szalai, the Chairman of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority and the management members of Antenna Hungária Group concluded the modification of the Authority Contracts on the operation of digital terrestrial television and radio networks signed in September, 2008.

The modification serves several purposes: fosters the process of digital switchover, improves the availability of digital terrestrial broadcasting and continues to vitalize the competition in television broadcasting, which provides the possibility of a higher quality service to customers.

Regarding the rollout schedule of digital terrestrial television networks, Antenna Hungária undertook further developments in addition to the previous contract,

The agreement creates the basis for the AH Group on the further development of digital terrestrial services by enabling the company to utilze the ’B’ multiplex – used for DVB-H broadcasting so far – for DVB-T purposes and to continue to enlarge its program offerings.

The two sides also agreed to cooperate in the execution of the analogue switch-off strategy, so that the affected analogue households are not left without the opportunity for free-to-air television.
